Give Life To Your Space

I've always found decorating the walls in this apartment to be a difficult task.  They're so big and I just didn't even know where to begin.  In September, Sabrina and I decided we would try to create a gallery wall above the couch.  It's taken a long time but I like that the things that have accumulated there are either meaning or just beautiful.  The wreath is just the dried version of the valentines day wreath; I made the little tapestry using my DIY loom, and I was inspired by the art in Nourish to make the fern.  The mirror was an incredible thrift store score, my mom painted the ocean scene, and the framed map just came from an old calendar!

I've also decided that plants in the apartment are a need, not a want.  And I love it!  I have succulents on the dining room book shelf, fresh flowers on the kitchen table, a bunch in my bedroom, dried flowers hanging above the TV, and random scatterings all throughout the apartment.  I just love the extra life they give the space and there's no question that they make me happier, too!

How do you bring life into your space? I'd love to get more ideas!
